Sunday two weeks before the Election
"Walk against warming confirms that people care about what is happening to our planet. There is a movement that is taking place right now, it’s a global movement that has finally hit the mainstream. It's a realisation of the impacts of our everyday actions that we can so easily take for granted. The more people involved in the movement the closer we are to living in line with what the earth has to offer.

We’d like to see the shift in people’s mindset turn towards the land, respecting the land, our future depends on it, and it’s actually really simple, contrary to some peoples beliefs. We are strong supporters of this cause and taking part in an event like this is bringing more and more awareness to the issue, but is also taking a direct action and showing you care!"

Walk Against Warming 2006
On 4th November 2006, nearly 100 000 people took to the streets at Walk Against Warming events in 28 locations across Australia. It was timed to coincide with UN climate change talks in Nairobi, and as an international day of action on climate change. Both the Melbourne and Sydney marches attracted over 40 000 people, more than any other city marches worldwide, including London and New York.

Walk Against Warming participants came from all walks of life – from individuals and families, community groups, social development organisations, faith based groups, universities and schools to local councils, sporting teams, green groups, unions and small businesses.
